I just got the following e-Bay warning. I do not use e-bay that much now that I have the HAMB so I am a bit confused about this e-mail. I have never got it and don't know if I should reply do to the scammers out there. Have any of you got this? DO you know if it is from e-bay or some ***hat Hacker trying to get my account? Wierd thing is that the message is a photo and if I try and click on it it tries to send me to a web site that is taking for ever to load so I canceled it.
Definately bad news, I got it, clicked on it, and Mcaffee promptly shut er' down. Definiately a virus or scam.,,,,,,,
It's a scam letter. I got the same thing a while ago, wrote Ebay and they said it was a scam. Contact them and forward the letter. It will help them to check out scammers.
You need to go to 'MyEbay' and check your messages. If they sent you an email it will be in there also. I smell scam. Beware of anything that ends with Regards...
I've gotten a few of those in the past. I also got the same one you did over the weekend. Here's a link to ebay that can maybe answer some of your questions: http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidence/questions/email-authenticity.html You can also forward the email to: s****@ebay.com -Jeremy
I have gotten 5 or 6 of those......it IS a scam. Forward it to abuse@ebay.com and to fraud@ebay.com If you have any further questions or need any help, dont hesitate to PM me
Thirdyfivepickup- I totally forgot about the "messages" section of MyEbay. That's probably the best way to check if any ebay emails are frauds.
Its this simple-********NEVVVVVVER********* click on or open any link on =ANY= email from ebay or PAY PAL-JUST- go to their sites=ONLY= from your bookmark or "favrorites"...that way you KNOW what site you are on!
It is a scam, it accepts any phony p***words you type which a true ebay page wouldn't. After that it asks for your credit card number and security code. I'm afraid it will fool a few, as it looks quite real.
No company will send you an email requesting you to 'login' and verify your credit card information. This includes your bank, credit card companies, department store cards...none of them will ask for this information through email. Also, move your mouse over the link and look at the bottom of the screen to see what the url address really is. And always look for the padlock at the lower right section of your internet explorer to insure you are in a secure connection when making any monetary transactions online. I used to get an email at work (military address) a couple times a week from some bank that I don't even have an account with and it always asked me to follow the link and enter my account info. I hate to sound harsh but people that fall for this **** should not be in charge of the finances in that house! Seriously, question everything that involves your money and the internet.
I've been getting the same **** from Paypal. I've never even had a paypal account. Its a scam to get info about you. ****'em. If your account gets suspended sign up again.
The Flood Gates of the "Heavenly Spam" are open .... ebay, paypal, bank of the west, suntrust, visa, amex..yadah.yadah .........
sign in to E bay by getting on to it and go to the my E bay page. Read your messages, if it is there it is real.
It's a scam. I got the same one a week ago. I sent eBay a e mail asking if it was from them, Within 24 hours i got a reply saying it was not, and that i should send it to the "s****" email address they have. I did, and again, within 24 hours they returned a email stating it was in fact a scam. They also said that if i ever get an email that i'm not sure of, just go into "my eBay" and click on 'my messages', there will be one there too if they sent one ot my email.
Another easy way to tell if it is BS is look at the web address they send you to carefully. Typically there is something weird/ out of the ordinary about it. That one starts with httpS and no WWW. Gotten ones similar to that before also.
