I have lived within a 2 mile radius all of my life, and I thought I knew where all of the local old car stach's were. Boy was I wrong! A friend told me about an old car auction that is happening next Monday, less than five miles from home. I didn't think too much about it untill he told me that a place called Kruse was doing the auctioning...so I had to check out the website to see what it was. http://www.kruse.com/auctions/kleve05/details.htm click on photo inventory I drove by this place to and from work everyday for two years and had no idea this stuff was there. they are not all HAMB material... or are they? but alot of cool stuff. I guess I need to make friends with a local pilot and start searching for cars from the air. Steve
Cad coupe looks kool, I have always fancied taking a microlight or light aircraft up with some real good maps......
The Bugatti stuff is priceless and there is a car that looks like the Chrysler Ghia buried in the bushes. (Could be a custom(?)) Kind of reminds me of "Fuzz's Place"..., but only on a wealthier level..! These would be extremely difficult to see from the air and you wouldn't be allowed to fly low enough to identify them without a bunch of repurcussions from the FAA...!!! I have found some interesting junkyards by subscribing to the G.I.S. satellite Imageing service offered at most local government websites they are used for survey overlays.!!! A little fuzzy at times and they don't really pickup the stuff located in the bushes. It'll be interesting to see what everything goes for at the auction.
That auction was mentioned on another site I visit, really neat stuff. That big Bugatti engine should be the gem of the auction, I'm predicting it brings really stupid money. Does anyone know the history of the owner, were there finished cars as well?
With all the Bugatti and Duesy buyers, you could probably ****** up that A coupe body for a song. At least, in my fantasy you could. All that wonderful stuff there and they wasted 3 pictures on that rotten old boat that won't bring $5 I wonder if Jay Leno will be there, or one of his buyers?
Good 'ole Karl Kleve. I had forgotten they were still getting rid of some of his stuff. He used to have property all over the west side of Cincy with stuff like this dumped on it. One even had large airplane fuselage on it. If I get the chance, I'm gonna hit the preview, and see if there's any goodies most other people are likely to p*** over.
I know he has a jet airplane sitting there with the wings cut off of it about half the way out the span. I am taking the day off of work to go to the sale, and will go to the viewing on Sunday. It will be interesting to see what this stuff will go for, especially since Auburn starts on Wednesday, some may make the trip down here a couple of days early. Steve
