  4. What a coincidence, so do I.

Do you want pickups, or roadster pickups?

Just a heads up to anyone building one of these. Take into account that these trucks are extremely small. I.m 5'.7" and with a 6" chop its tight. A lot of people want to chop and channel these but there's only so much you can achieve with such a small palet.

  15. I thought they were too tight completely stock uncut sitting in one with the upper seat just bare springs.

This one is a converted sedan... but you all know that. It IS a neat old piece but not a "real" pickup cab.

I to am building one. It was set up for fenders before when I was building it for a customer. he pretty much gave up on it now. So I made a deal. So far I have a few good parts, but what I really need to see are some fraem/suspension pictures. Anyone got those?

I hear ya. I'm 6'1, 200lbs. So i'll have to be a little careful on the chop, etc. Mike

this is a nice looking truck, do you have any pics of it being built? does the top come off?

  26. Some nice cars here. I put this one together on the HAMB over the years. I built new throttle linkage for it this week. Does that count? I hear you about the tiny cockpit in these things, good incentive to moderate your beer drinking.

  27. Mine's a '29AA. I'm putting in a 351 Windsor with an AOD. The rear axle, spindles, brakes and wheels are from a '60 F-350 tow truck, and I've set up the rear to use the cantilever leaf springs as the upper bars of a four-bar suspension. The front is set up with the stock axle, modified to accept the F-350 spindles, with a P&J four-bar and Mustang box. Yeah, I'm also 6'2" and around 200 lbs. and sitting in the cab puts my kneecaps up my nostrils, but it's a hotrod, okay?

I'm going to fabricate something close to an express bed for the back, since they are rare in original form. I'm going fully fendered. The 17.5-inch tires from the tow truck give a tall enough profile that it looks close to original wheels to the untrained eye. Yup, it will sit high, and that's the look I want.

I am finally getting time to build my 31. It will be similar to Vergil's but with solid steelies and brown primer.

here is what it used to look lile (it had a Alexander Brother's Grasshopper vibe, including green frame)

and here is what is looks like today as I start mocking it back up
