Hey guys, i got a 78 f150 9 inch thats goin under my apache. When i got it, it had a br*** block that was attached to the d/s axle tube. It was a splitter for the brake lines and i believe a breather as well. Anyone know where to find one? Ive searched all over Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
The brake line part should be available at Napa, but the bold that held it down I had to go to a guy that specializes in building 9 inch rears and he gave me one. other than that the junk yard would have one.
I just used an Earl's br*** cross (PN 972059ERL) 1/8" NPT fitting to vent and hold the cross solid. Go to Summit if you want to view
I just cut mine off because it wouldnt unscrew, dumb *** me. Ill have to drill it out n get the threads clean now Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
thanks for this thread! i have the same issue, but my dumb*** broke mine off "trying" to turn it out!
Lmao glad to help someone else out too. I just managed to get mine out. So its all good now Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
I had to go look to remember........1/8" NPT close ****** thru the hole in the br*** block (might have enlarged hole slightly) then 1/4" hose barb fitting w/ 1/8" NPT female threads for the vent. I needed about 1/8" shim for the female barb to tighten up on the block. No leakage w/ a little silicone into the housing.
You can get a new one. http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-22390-9-axle-breather-vent.html and the br*** splitter block is part of the rear frame to axle brake hose.
Relic thanks dude. I had found that on that exact website like two or three weeks ago but didnt save the page. I was literally on that site like two hours ago and searching for "axle vent", "axle breather" etc etc but the search wasnt working on that site. Thanks a ton dude Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
just so you know.....you can move the location of the hole in the axle tube to where it works better for you. just weld up the old hole and drill and tap a new one 7/16-20. i do it all the time
