Flathead Ford firing every other cylinder???

    49/53 FH w/ Mallory 50 series distributor. Module good. Proper coil and ballast. Engine not firing on 2,3 and 5,8 which is every other cylinder (fire order 15486372) I have replaced module anyway. Same problem. IDEAS!!! Thanks. Ed.

    It sounds like one half of the carb is not working.

    Gotta be a short in that dist. Cap, rotor,wires. Sometimes the wires get rubbed through in the dist. good luck, Bruce

    Take and count the idmitter, look and see if you have 6

    X2 Had the same issue and it was the carb.

    I have the exact same problem with my Merc 8cm motor (like an 8BA) running the Mercury carb. Have swapped out all the ignition stuff (stock style) including plugs, points, coil, condenser cap. I even had the carb rebuilt.

    What ended up working for you?
