The pic with me in it is actually at its low point, it sits 3-4 inches up from that when at ride height, but trust me, on the streets around here you need that extra bit of ground clearance if you intend on drivin it much.

Very cool! I really admire your skills, very nice looking frame and suspension. Autocad is a nice tool to have! I even like the shot of you tool bench steel top and diamond plate, man sure beats my recycled deck work bench!

i gotta say tho,,, i ALMOST agree with him... no lawn to mow, no neighbors walkin in the garage and breakin your chain of thought cause the doors are all closed...

but its that whole "snow and ice" thing that kill the fun of the thought :p

Thanks for the compliments, you will have to wait till fall here as I have not built the driveshaft hoop yet, only a mid and ****** xmember is all. That is my next project when the car comes home from storage this fall.

Well first of all I won't take credit here on that one as it was suggested to me to do it that way by a guy on here called "AHOTROD".

It works really sweet that way and is very easy to reverse. All you have to do is take it apart, drill a hole in the center of the large aluminum cap side that looks like a large nut. Drill the hole large enough that the shaft that your ujoint goes on will slide thru it, i believe it was just over 9/16. Its best to do this in a lathe so that is is a better fit. Re***emble it with the steering column side reversed so it now comes out thru the aluminum end cap. Place a frost plug in the original location. Regrease, good to go. Now the pitman arm will hang down and turn the proper way when mounted as such. Also, the Pitman arm is a Stainless Steel pitman arm, avail from Old Car center or TCI i believe.

I will post a tech with pics on how this gets done when I go thru all the pics i have in the next while here, as we are going to do another box that way shortly. Trust me its really easy to do as the bearings and races are the same size top and bottom.

Build looks great. One thing you might want to do is to gusset the link bar that has your bag mounted to it. I have done some similar leverage bag-over-bar setups, and seen many that bent the lower bar, even with .25" wall dom tubing. It puts alot of stress on the bar. You could just build some gussets out of 3/8" plate to weld to the underside of the bar, I attached a pic(and a link) of similar gussets that suicidedoors sells that solve the problem.

Great looking work though, keep it up

Thanks for the info but I think i should be alright. I built that lower bar similar way that Air Ride Technologies builds theirs, same diameter of bar, 1.5" and they use .219" wall and mine is .240" wall, as well i have shorter bars then they use so I should be alright as theirs is designed to support a 58 Chev and I know my sedan wont weigh anywhere near that of a 58 Chev. Thanks tho i will keep it in mind. Always appreciate others ideas.

Yeah, your sedan will be pretty light in the back, thats true. Most of the cars I've seen with problems in this area were full bodied heavy cars or trucks. I always tend to overbuild stuff.

    Keep up the nice work!

That thing looks sweet man. Hopefully my face is done peeling from my welding on Sunday so I can put a fresh burn on tonight. I need to finish the floor in my sedan this week so I can possibly do the roof next week.
