Saw an ad for these guys in a magazine...they offer stepped frames in three build stages. Looked interesting, so I scoped their web site. No prices on welded frames, but they talk a good game...just wondering if anyone here has bought a frame from them and how they are? http://www.tinyskustoms.com/
You might want to do a search. There was some talk a few weeks ago about somebody here having trouble contacting them, but somebody else came to Tinys defense.
for what it's worth,i've heard many good things about the guy..very sick fabricator...if the frames are anything like the cars i've seen, you can't lose.
Tiny is by far one of the best guys in the business. Give him a call and discuss your project, and he can match you up with the best application. You can't lose with quality or price.
Zombie does all his artwork I'm sure you could get ahold of him through Traditional Rod & Kulture or Zombie himself.
Tiny is the shit, and a VERY upstanding honest guy, we go WAY back.......He is in an argument with his 800 number provider which makes it hard to get ahold of him, he also travels and does alot of shows during summer, in addition he is a big part of "Traditional Rod & Kulture" magazine. If you want or need something from Tiny and you're having trouble getting ahold of him, I might be able to help. Hope this helps
If I was back in Idaho I could help ya get a hold of him, but truly he is one of the kings of fabrication, and one of the best guys you could ever meet.
I'll let him know of your truly kind words...and I couldnt agree more, this was why I owned his old belair for such a long while. I have direct numbers for him, so if you need to get him I can get him for you.
I ordered a chassis package from Tiny about six weeks weeks ago. He told me it would be shipped in less than a week. I have been trying to each him, but his phone number has been disconnected. Does anyone have a way to contact him. I am using his services because on this post have many people praised his quality of work and fair prices. I am aware if this issue happening with other customers, but was willing to take the chance. I understand Tiny is kind of a one man operation and am willing to be patient and wait. I just want him to be honest and let me know the time frame in which I can expect my order to be shipped. My credit card has not been charged as of yet. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!.......Krash
I canceled my order. I couldn't do it by phone because his number is still disconnected. I had to do it via e-mail. He replied, "Cool, later...." The guy seems really nice on the phone. He is more or less a one man operation so I am sure he is just really busy. The reason I canceled is because he wasn't being honest with work that was done and delivery date, so I aborted...
Krash, Wow, amazing that you didn't have to fly here and knock on his door to get your money back. This guys is a rip-off artist and a hack. If you lived within 50 miles of Tiny you would know how many people he has hosed. Oh sure... He's a hoot when you occasionally see him at a car show... if you can live through the his man-hugging, just slap him on the back and say "see ya next year!" If you want to actually "get" something from your hard earned money, go elsewhere. Just keep it friendly and don't do business with the guy. That's about the extent of it. I'm sure someone will reply and sing their praises about how wonderful they think he is.... your time will come sucka (wait until he moves to your town)
wow, 1 post and it's this. you've gotta build some credibility before throwing the mud like that. I was just on his site and his work looks top notch from the pictures but in person it may be a different story. Can we get some more opinions here?
If you can't get what you want from him, contact Killer here on the board. He does top notch work at great prices. I know he'll hook you up. I'm sure others will vouch for him as well.
It's funny, ten people come out of a movie theatre,8 love the movie 2 say it was shit!Who's right? Tiny does great work,is he a dick? don't care. He runs his shop alone, and has plenty of customers, happy ones. That's why there is more than one shop to get stuff.Unless your waiting for "HOTROD MART". Go somewhere else, don't shit on Tiny.I hear Killer does great work too. Shop around.
actually... i heard the same thing from more than a few people. some do not like the guy because of bad business dealings. then again, ive never dealt with him... just passing along what ive heard.
I know tiny. I wouldn't deal with him. As a friend you see occasionally, he's fine. He lived in this area for awhile. Been there, done that. jerry
I e-mailed him(Tiny) asking for prices 2 months ago and he never got back to me, how do people stay in business?
HE IS A FUCKING HACK!!!!!!! hE RIPPED MY ASS OF FOR ABOUT 700 BUCKS AND HE COMES UP WITH LAME ASS EXCUSES FOR EVERYTHING!! Go to a real shop and remember Don't buy from tiny's "chop" shop!! I STAND FOR MY WORDS!!!! ANYONE GOT A PROBLEM!!
Nice guy to talk to on the phone.Has all the excuses he can think of.Ripped me on a t-shirt.Glad it was only 25 bucks.
Yeah, I got a problem with guys that type swear words in large type. Ooops, now I made you mad and you will type back in larger type and more swear words. Oh, well, I never liked bullies.
I bought a commercially made Model A chassis once....$700 as I remember......it was made by a guy named Dave Gale of Curbside. Gale formerly owned Just A Hobby, that was later bought by Barry Lowbeck and his wife Jeanie...I don't know where Gale is from, AZ I think...I got it from a Michigan dealer...Frank's Antique Auto Parts, when he was in Burton, MI..now I understand he lives in Frankenmuth, MI. Gale took a 5 year non-compete agreement with Lobeck's, made all new fixtures, and went back into business as Curbside.... And my buddy Brent bought a Lobeck Model A chassis, as he lives in the Cleveland, OH area, and it's first rate also. Can't tell his Just a Hobby frame from my curbside frame....both first rate chassis.... I built a T Bucket frame with very basic tools when I was 19, in 73...it turned out fine. I made all of the mounts in the tool and die shop I worked in that summer....It was very Old Skool....used my friend's Lincoln AC 225 welder to put it together.... In 2001 I built another chassis for my chopped 31 A coupe, also very old skool....used the Farm's Miller 250 MIG welder... Lots of good information out there today, and good chassis parts suppliers... Try building your own frame.....don't wait on the Tiny's of the world to deliver....steel may be high, but it's still affordable... Just my two cent's worth...
I'm happy I didn't get hosedlike so many others did. I just lost time and a little patience...no money. For those in need of frame or chassis work in northern Ohio I ended up using Dave Macan of Custom Fab Works. He is on the HAMB as whatfenders. He does kick ass work for a very reasonable price. PM him or I for info. He built a chassis for my Model A Sedan. He also built a sweet Deuce style chassis for Grumpy. He has a boatload of experience and I HIGHLY recommend him. Later, Krash
I know Tiny is a stand up guy. It seems to me that he likes to please everybody and some times may over book himself. So give a guy a break.
Well..... I am one of those who got ripped off by Tiny I thought he was a good dude and not some asshole that would take 2900 bucks from me. I was WRONG My wife and I hung with him at VLV a few years back he would call my house 2-3 times a week ask about the kids tell us how my 29 and frame was looking I just dont know maybe probs at home who the -F- knows what I cant understand was how was I So... F*ing DUMB a thought he was the real deal A true Bud but as It turns out I was One of many. Zombie's dad called me and said that I was about the 100th person to call with the SAME story. So to all of you that say he is such a great guy I havent heard shit from him in more than a year and your GREAT GUY HE STILL HAS MY CAR!
Its kind of hard to follow your huge run on sentance, but anyhow, have you thought about going to his shop to find out what the deal is with your car? Even if it costs a plane trip, Id want to know what was going on if my car was at his shop. Also, I see a guy post here on the hamb too, and his name is tiny. Same guy? He also does tech articles for one of the OSR/CKD mags, I guess he has time to do that stuff, while he screws over customsers. nice guy.
Heres a link to a thread by Tiny on the HAMB: http://jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126213&&showall=1 Same Tiny?
