  2. Hack - I'd be real interested, it would need blinker capability to blink the tail lights etc.

I'd also be real interested in what the fuse block looks like. Will the wires be permanently afixed at the block when you get it???

    Interesting story....
The giveaway NSRA truck this year has a kwikwire setup in it.
We notice the ignition switch was getting hot when the car was in operation. We put a temp sensor on it and found it to be 260 degrees!
We first thought it was a switch problem but found that Downs ran
13 main power wires to the switch without any relays instead of running to a block.
We searched high and low for the relays and nothing.
Luckily this was found otherwise we would have had a BIG pile of plastic laying on the ground. The vehcile will probably have to be completely rewired.
The Kwikwire rep about shit! he said he even sent them a handful of relays for this thing. Naturally liability would be a concern with him.
Downs hasn't been given the news yet.

I gotta say, Cutting corners in the wiring department is NOT the place to do it.

You get what you pay for.

(To me, automotive wiring is fun and easy, so I just assume it's that way for everyone, but I'm getting the feeling that some people are kinda scared to tackle it? I'd be happy to offer these kits for those that want a little help.)[/QUOTE]

My son and I bought a 49 chevy one month ago today and we are learning as we go since both of us have never worked on cars to any extent. The car came with a 12 volt coversion from "Its-a-snap"...even with the instructions it's still a mystery to us. As a real novice, having a kit like yours coming from someone who is actively involved with building hot rods at the price that is very reasonable would be a real plus.

Now if you could package a reasonably priced kit for air bags, one with a full pressure 235 and new drive train, and one for shaved handles we could get this project really on the road.

  9. I would suggest that you raise your price even before you do anything. If someone wants to market, or add to their line of products they are going to ask for a cut of the action to market, so you have to build in a percentage.
Make it as close to the existing market as possible to give yourself some wiggle room. Really the difference between $85.00 and $99.00 dollars is not going to change the marketability. Because of perception, $99.00 seems like the bargain price.
Also don't get your hopes built up on people saying that they would buy it, because if you asked for orders right now, I don't think you would get many, because talk is cheap. The marketplace is a daunting experience and if you don't do it right you will be disappointed.

My opinion and a cheap one at that.

i would go for one but a little more complicated i.e turn signal cans and perhaps a supply of plug type connectors to get the body from the chassis a bit quicker.you could also offer these options including instrument lamp harnesses too that can plug into the main harness.I completely agree there are too many circuits i.e fuses but i think the industry also lacks options like a build up type harness you can add to as you go along or need.Add ons sound like a good idea to me.................Marq oh p.s i would have one with the add ons and i'm sure a few others would if it made the job quicker neater and easier as my under dash looks like a plate of very italian spaghetti at the moment
