At a recent auction, I bought a box of brand New, vintage vacuum advance canisters made by a company called Vulcan. Most of them seem to be from the 40s and 50s maybe 60s too. I want to try and get these into the hands of people who need them, but I need part number and application information. Can anybody help? Thanks, Joel
Post the part number on the carton. Sometimes the suppliers used the same number (or an obvious variation of the mfr nmbr) and it could be ID'd from that. I have many ignition parts catlgs but not for Vulcan.
Thanks for the reply! some of the boxes tell the application, I will list that as well Here are the numbers: hV 90 -replaces 573667, M9909 58 Oldsmobile V165, replaces Iat-2023le; 62 V190 replaces Iat-2023rg V175 replaces ie T – 2023 LJ V 200 replaces IAT 2023 RJ V 310 190-9343, D1333 46 to 51 Chevrolet, 46 to 54 Chevrolet truck V 395 B 53336 57 to 58 Packard, 50 to 59 Studebaker eight V 435, replaces 192-5518 V 510, replaces 111608o 1955 to 56 Pontiac eight cylinder 1955 GMC eight cylinder V 535 replaces 111-6100 V 540 replaces 111-6096 1956 to 57 Oldsmobile V 610 replaces 111-6133 V 720 replaces 111-6174 1960 -61 Rambler V 800 replaces IBT 2023r, a 53388 V 845 replaces 1881944 V 850 replaces iat 2023 LL, 6-4 1962 1961 Rambler American six-cylinder V 875 replaces i.e. Z2023le, 6– 56, 90 – 100, 208-4857 1961 to 1962 dart D 500 Hiperformance 1963 Dodge 383 four Berrel 1961 Desoto 1962 1962 Dodge 1962 1962 Plymouth high-performance V 890 replaces 188-1754 1960 Canadian dart eight cylinder 1957 to 1959 Dodge Plymouth six-cylinder V 925 replaces b5S12370a V 1475 replaces 111-6142 V 1590 replaces 196-1825 V 1600 replaces 111-5353 That's all, thanks for the help. Take your part #s to napa. They should be able to cross thr #s and give you the applacations. Im not working right now or I would do it for you.
have some myself.....not sure but I'll take a look.....think the Neihoff catalog had an interchange....
Thanks for that Mr. Super Moderator! But I must admit, with several car projects going on right now, I just don't have time to filter thru the list and figure these vacuum cans out. Maybe someone want the whole box?
