It's really rewarding, to see all of ones time and hard work "pay-off"..........nicely done!!........
I just saw a complete '65 go for a grand out here where I'm working in Arkansas. It was a pretty rusty; I'm glad I got mine when I did. Rivi's are awesome cars.
I've always loved those car's. Guy up the street from where I grew up had one, matter of fact he still has it. Really starting to dig the the different greens that i have seen on here lately.
Awesome!!!! Epic choice of color. I love it. 63-65 rivs are on a very short list of cars I need to own.
Color looks awesome!! I can't recall ever seein' an early Riv painted that color or anything even close.
me too had a GS in high school ...dual quads..A/C loaded.power every thing..oh ya nice car ....cool car
The Rivs had so much style going for them and would be a hit if they were made today and nothing was changed. I dig the color, stance and interior, it'll be *****in' when complete. Keep going and post progress pix. Bob
He's busy trying to NOT scratch the piss outta it during re***embly! Love the green. Looks very similar to a color I'm looking at for my truck. The Jimmie Vaughn Rivi is my all time fave. Absolutely LOVE that car.
It's been a while since my last update. All I can say is lots of life happened all at once. Once I got it into paint, it took me about a year and half to finish the car . It's been on the road for about a year and a half. Due to work I didn't have time to show it last summer all though I did make it down to Antioch for Billetproof 2011. This summer I moved to Socal for a new gig! I thought I'd include a bunch more build shots. This Photoshop painting I did started it all. I knew I needed to build this car. Door skins back from the media blaster. Painting the door jams in the dead of winter. Smoothed out the door hinges.
Started fitting all the interior pieces. Smoothed out the padded panel under the p***enger side of the dash. Installed a Ron Francis wiring harness.
Yuk, look at that poor Nailhead. My one mechanical upgrade. 67 Buick booster and master for the 4 wheel drums.
Final ***embly, check out the power vent windows! Bought a buffer from Eastwood, watched their demo video and taught myself how to polish. It took me 160 hours to dolly, sand and polish all the stainless. Chrome by Specialty Plating in North Vancouver BC Canada
Here is a shot of my dad, Gary Lang and I at the Goodguy's Spokane run. That's his real steel 32. It was great to finally not be a p***enger and to cruise along side the old man. It was a very proud moment for the both of us.
Always thought GM hit a homerun with the Riv styling , particularly in '63 . Beautiful car , I'm sure you're proud after all that hard work . Um , are there any more pics of Dad's Deuce ? T
With your Dad being Gary, and Sandy teaching you to paint, no wonder your car turned out so nice. You were taught by 2 legends and it looks like you were paying attention. Very nice. I hung around with Don Holloway, another Vancouver legend, in the early 70's and he taught me body and paint. Don is a master and I really appreciate what he taught me. You learned from 2 of the best. How great is that. Nice job, looks great. Pat
