I'm thinking about buying this off of my buddy because he's strapped for cash. Its a Willys all steel coupe 460 eng, C-6 trans, 9 inch 3rd member, mustang II front clip. What do you think is a fair price to pay in this economy? He wants 30k

Since he's your buddy pop him $32k! If that is all factory sheet metal and the rest of the car is as nice as the pix $30k is an OK price. I've seen em asking that for a steel Chevy and that is a Willys. The car I built models of as a kid, wish I would have kept the last one (Gasser Pick Up) it turned out real nice.

If he'll sell you that car for 30,000 he really is your buddy. That's a great price for an all steel Willys.

  5. Sounds too good to be true for a real STEEL Willys !

  6. Agreed, if all is as appears.

That's probably a 60-70 thousand dollar car over here in Australia. 30 grand is a steal I reckon.

I would mortage my house for that damn car...you could flip it at that price! Even if it needs a little work you could still make profit!

  20. Good Lord....have you bought it yet?
an all steel Americar coupe, looking like that, for $30k???

DO NOT tell anyone where it is, until it is in your garage !!!!

  21. That's a steal if it's steel!

Not too bad of a price if it's 'glass too.

However, by the time you get done screwin' around on the net it'll be gone at that price.

I have a buddy that bought a rolling body that needed full restoration for 20 grand.

I would have not mentioned it until the pictures were taken in my shop for that price. Have you been hiding under a rock for the last 20 years?

Not sure I would be cool with my friend telling the world I was strapped for cash. That car could be worth triple that price to the right buyer or more.

Hell, for 30K a guy usually doesn't expect an engine with one of those in that condition.
If you don't want it help a Hamber who will appreciate it get into it so it won't get turned into a street rod. And I'd say the bidding starts at that 30K.

  28. You don't have it in your garage yet????????WTF

I'm gonna take the opposite side, I'm not really a Willys guy, so I would not pay $30K for it.

Next, dont buy it to flip it, you dont do that to friends, if its worth a lot more than $30K, tell him to list it here. (if you buy it, keep it for a few years at least, and give him first option to buy it back)

Finally, most people dont give away their cars, even to friends, if he is asking $30K, it probalby is a $30K car (not more)
