Customs 60 Lincoln, what should I do with this?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tinbender, Sep 22, 2012.

  1. I was offered a 60 Lincoln. Not sure just what to do with it. Anyone have pictures of customs with the canted headlights/grill, and or bumper from one of these? How about the back end? Anyone use it for a custom? Maybe a pick up bed? And no, I have little interest in building it. I will most likely part it out. Of course anything I don't want will be offered on the HAMB first. But don't get excited, it will be a while before I get to it.

don't part **** out.. jesus. They are rare. Unless its a turd let someone else enjoy it. People who just part **** out ruin it for people who want a complete car.

  4. It's a 4 door. I haven't seen it but It's from a buddy I know well, and he say's it's not cherry.
As far as ruining things for people, what about ALL the cars that get back on the road with the parts? Or the custom that could be created with that front end? Hell of a lot more value in that than another 4 door on the road.
People who want to preserve everything ruin it for the ones who need parts!;)

It's not about money, IF I sell any parts from this, it's to get them to someone that needs them. Any money that comes to me will go to my buddy. He saved it from the crusher.

I may need a few parts here and there. Let me know iof you decide to sell parts.

  6. It should have backwards rear doors and while I am partial to the 2 door the more doors make excellent mild custom cruisers as well. They are a boat for damned sure but they are a cl***y boat.

The engine should be worth something to the MEL crowd. It should be a 430 and is definately not a throw away engine. Of course it is worth absolutely no0thng to me so if you decide to toss it I will figure out a way to get it from Washington to Missouri. Be a good excuse for the kid to rent a Uhaul and come see me. ;)

Hey, if you still have access to this im in dire need of Headlight bezels, from bumper, rear bumper and the rear setup for tails and plate

  8. Of course I'll let you guys know what's available. Both my buddy and myself are really backed up with projects, so I may just let it sit in storage for a month or two. It's not going anywhere.

  9. Only the Continental had the rear hinged doors. The standard Lincoln four door had, conventional hinges

    1965, I bought a black '60 4-door, $100. Replaced the fuel pump,

(diaphragm had a hole, dumped gas into the crankcase; back row on a used car lot...shady dealer thought the engine was shot from the smoking...he never checked the dipstick. Reeked of gasoline, and showed 'way over full of oil!)

Dropped it 5", Riv wire wheel caps, switched low beams w/high beams.
Lower headlamps low beams at night on the dropped car really got the eyeballs when we slid up...
The 'Lincoln Street Blues Band' rode in style...and yes, we all wore shades at night. LOL

I think the 58 version was a cooler looking ride, especially the convertibles !
