Ive lowered my truck three inches and not my original tierod and draglink setup doesnt work. you can see in one of the pictures that my steering knuckle is 3 inches higher than it was before and my tierod cant attach up to it because it hits the radius rod, i would like to move my gearbox up 2 inches for ground clearence issues but this still doesnt help me out, So i was thinking to replace the whole setup with new pipe and heim joints, this way i can drill out my knuckles and drop the attaching point 1.5 inches, but what about my drag link? this setup is pretty much just two long tierods attached to eachother, should i try to change this out and go for a traditional cross steer setup?

its under a 34 ford but most of the steering parts are from a 1980's ford ranger but the tie rod and draglink are fliped from infront is the ibeam to behind the i beam.

  6. You might be able to get away with making what they refer to as a "bump steer" kit (Google it for pictures). You said the tie rods SHOULD attach to the tops of the steering arms, right? If you drill them out and use bolts with spacers on the bottom, you can move the mounting point down even further. This will require heim joints on the outer ends, but everything else should work fine.
