It has been a while since i have seen any posting on building the 430 lincoln in their ride.Has anybody recently put together one that ran and was drivable with all the goodys.and that will exclude the gizzle hooper dude and the the guys that had them fifty years ago.recently sold my55 ford g***er. But my 430 stayed behind was going to finish it up and put in a 55 chevy.wanted to see if anybody ever got one together ,and how it really ran in todays real world.mine has the isky 505 c roller, stroked with 462 crank with with 12.1/2 to 1 compression pistons. At the time i was building it a sinking a boatload of cash into it i stopped at the intake have 460 wiend tunnel ram 2 holley 660s had issues with what type of adapter to run and yes i know were to get them. the problem was with the distributor location was binding on the intake. has anyone ever adressed this issue was thinking of have price ms make me an exstrnsion for the distributor to raise it up.if anybody out there in hamb land has recently done one please i would like to pick your brain. and before anyone says they are to heavy ect after you get rid of the intake, and exsuast manifolds its 20 lbs lighter than a 454

Karol Miller (Singer & Miller) was the last Lincoln I knew of to fly.

I'm still working on getting mine together. I'm going with for a straight up 430 with a tri-power for now. I would agree that price is the way to go on the distributor extension. The Prices are great people. Can you post some pics of your project? I would love to see them, and anybody else that has a 430 or any MEL project going. I will post mine soon. It will be going to the machine shop in the next couple of weeks. lets get some MEL talk going

i was thinkin abought taking out the isky and having my stock cam ground to 427 chevy l88 specs i love the way that cam sounds i wonder if it would do good and sound good in the 430 if you take your 430 and take off the oil pan and turn it upside down and put it next to a 440 mopar they look very close other than valve location and the exsuast chambers being a little bigger ive noticed they are similer to bbc sqaure ports i have the 59 pi heads and the valves are the same size as l88 valves i dont know what year your 430 is the intake valves out of a 67 462 are bigger than 58-60 but the exuast are smaller they probaly fit right in your heads with a little seat work

Are the heads similar to BBC and the oil pan similar to a B/RB?

I like the 56. Do you think regrinding the cam to 428 cobra jet specs or some other engine that is a torque monster might work well?

I did like the Ford engine in the Chev. It's good to get some payback. I'm not really sure on which cam grind will work best. It seems like everybody tells me to keep the rpms down on these engines or they will not hold together. I personally don't think 6500 is that high. It seems like the roller cam is going to be a bit on the pricey side, and trying to find a bronze gear is impossible. Thanks for the pics of engine, tunnel rams are, and will always be, cool.

If it can be reved that high then I like the L88 cam Idea. Did you get a chance to talk to Price yet?

Nice Lincoln. Building any type of MEL engine seems like running a marathon. Not Easy.

Your posts and discussion would be much easier to follow if you used punctuation - you know, ending a sentence with a period, using commas in their proper place. Your stuff just runs on and on....
