Man... could you imagine staring with such a cherry original car? The 150 is my choice... no trim to have to remove to radius the rear fenders... light weight... yea baby!

I think a lot of us take fro granted some of the primo iron that is still out there... there are cars, like this one, that are being overlooked by the Joe-hot rodder because they are low man on the totum pole cars. Sure, those "in the know" dig them... but my guess is that the guy who bought this is going to turn it into a modernized '55. :(

So, what other cars are out there? I'm not saying everything should have a straight axle under the front of it... I'm just asking... what other cars are prime for the pickins?

I guess I get all warm and fuzzy inside whenever I see a car that would make a neat street machine or drag car... or... gasser... and it is an unmolested ORIGINAL. Sure, the cars with history get a lot of attention, but man... you almost don't want to MESS with history and build them into the vision you have in your head. (screw that, I am with my car...) BUT, you catch HELL for it...

Anyone else have any dream cars that may not be a '32 Ford or a Model A highboy... or a '49 Merc? Sure those are the "best"... and most POPULAR on this board.... but broadening your horizons can be healthy!

I still want to build a v8 Vega... or a '67 Camaro. I probably won't ever get the chance... but I still like them.

    Sam.

Sam, I was just flipping through a history of Trans Am racing book. Seems to me that one could build a Camaro in that style, just business, and have lots of fun. Sort of "Mad Max" meets the Sunoco Camaros - at least that is what I am day dreaming about today...

Most People think i'm joking when I tell them this, while traditional cars are my first love, Pro-street was king when I was a little kid and I've always had a hankering to build something, like a 3rd Gen Nova, tubbed with a big tunnel ram poking out of the hood, because 1) twin holley dominators***** in any bugs before they can get to the windshield 2) 5 point harnesses lift and seperate 3) wheelie bars make good curb feelers. As for unmolested,I guess its not really a dream car, but my buick was unmolested before I got to it.

A friend of mine picked up a 48(?) Crosley SEDAN last year for $300 already set up for a straight axe and SBC. He hasn't touched it, but I'm hoping either I'm in line to get it, or he'll do something cool with it.

I bought 60s styles 61 Lark 2 door wagon last weekend.I was just going to put a sbc in it slam and drive it.But I've got a 396 th400 combo lined up and a $250.00 econoline in my neighborhood.I think the axle is too wide but I havn't checked for sure.It would sure look right though.

Sam - My Falcon 2dr. wagon was not my "dream car", but was very cherry, rust free,100% original, and never molsested, untill I got a hold of it and ruined it!:D The fact it was so solid and I didn't have to fix someone else's*****ups is what sealed the deal. When i started tearing it apart, it was like working on a 4year old car. Makes the project so much more enjoyable!!:) A true "virgin surviver"- and look what I've done to it:eek: . I'm so ashamed:rolleyes: ....................HAHAHA!!!!

Swingshift - the Econoline axle will be too wide for the Lark. Check MAS or Speedway for one the right width you need. I think MAS will make one any width you want.

I've always liked the '56 plymouth's lines, so I couldn't resist buying a very nice, complete car. I took it home, removed the rear qtr trim strips and radiused the wheelwells before I could chicken out. Now it's got a 440/TF727 and might even get worked on this winter if I ever get caught up on other people's*****.:D

  15. I like lots of cars...and have built a few. I ahe a wide range of tastes.

Already done the muscle car thing (66' and 67' Goat convertables, 68 Dart GT convertable). Already done the sleeper thing (74' valiant 4 door with a killer 340). Already did the big cruiser (66' Pontiac Parisienne Custom Sport Convertable, 69' Sport Fury). Already did the********* drag only car (68' Dart). Finishing up on the pro-turing, road-racing car (80' Camaro Z28).

I want to have only three or four cars now (at one time). I am never selling my first car, I need a car hauler, and a cool daily driver that can be done on the cheap. So the dart is staying, the rampback is staying, and I think I have found the basis for a real cool daily driver.

I am still jonesing for a 55' Chev, 39' Merc, a 5 window coupe, a 59' Dodge, a 59' Elco, a 63' plymouth, 60-65 Ranchero, 64-65' Cuda or Valiant, and a ton more. I plan on having one of each sometime before I die.

    I am only 28...think I have time?

  16. I've done most of what i wanted to do except an Anglia and a 440 powered 67-72 Dart, But I seem to have a knack for finding oddball cars, So I end up with just about anything BUT what i am looking for at the time , I want a clone of my old 71 340 Duster (black w white 340 twister Duster stripes-6pac scoop ) M/P car ,but the wife pitches a fit everytime I find one :( (not good thing back then, the car got parts b4 we ate + she REMEMBERS   , funney tho she went to the hosp. to have our daughter in that car cause our daily would'nt start :D.(FEB in MN is a******-CCCCCOLD) saw this nearly Identical 440 powered one at BIR this year , exact looks except i ran Keystones , I damn near cried DEROOOOOOOOl!
