All I can say about your rear susension design is No No No.

What you have built will not work.

What you have created is a big stiff anti sway bar. Your side suspension arms mounted outside the rails and bolted with the 2 lower bolts in the bracket basically gives you a big solid U shaped sway bar style assembly which will not allow your rear end to articulate properly when the car goes over bumps.

Think about one wheel moving up as it goes over a bump, the other end of the axle (tire) needs to stay in contact with the road.

In other words the axle needs to articulate from side to side.

With your design it will not because of the sway bar effect.

If you dont believe me set one of your rear tires on a floor jack and raise it up.

The tire on the other side should stay planted on the floor while the side you are jacking goes up.

Yours will not do that, instead it will try to lift the whole rear of the car.

That design will handle very badly and be scary on the road.

In order for it to work properly you need a single pivot point under the rear axle rather than the 2 bolts.

You need to eliminate the "sway bar" effect.

I went through this exact thing and it was pointed out to me when I designed the rear suspension on my 26 RPU.

The discussion and changes I made can be found on my build thread.

now that is a very cool looking ride. I love that it is a frankin car built from all the left over pieces like that!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Blue One! this is the exact reason why i post on here.. everything you said was correct. so you say create a single mounting point between the rear radius rod and axle then fabricate another for the top to create a four bar system correct?

Correct. And that single mounting point under the axle at the rear of the lower bar needs to be able to move, a bushing pivot.

If you fabricate upper bars you can have them straight in line with your lower bars, and if you do then you will need a panhard bar to control the sideways movement of the axle.

Or you could choose to do what I did and triangulate the upper bars by having them at an angle that will point them in line with the front mounting point of the lower bars.

That way your axle will articulate and move up and down as it should and side to side movement is also controlled.

Again, if you visit my build thread you can see what I did.

UPDATE: Originally 'Sygreaser' I'm now 'ZELTANGO'. 6yrs after selling the car and moving states a friend found it and bought it for me. It was a few steps back from where I left off. But over the last year I've built a new frame, re-engineeringed the suspension, and finished the bodywork. It's very close to completion and will be a give away car for our Instagram! @ZELTANGO, welcome back...I really like these latest images...It's coming together. I'm a bit confused. Are these AI inspirations or the real deal. You shared them in the Thread by Ryan on your AI work. If they are real I was mistaken in commenting how AI interpreted what I was seeing because it wasn't in fact that...

Nothing wrong with Inspirations as I many times do this for Hambers digitally but not AI. How really doesn't matter .

I'm glad you are still into Vintage Style Hotrod and it looks like you'll be driving it soon...Is it going to be shiny or flat...

Thanks Stogy. It's going to be like a matte denim blue patina with distressed race lettering when it's finished. Similar to this crude photoshop I did.
