Any hints or clues on how to remove the gl*** from the Drivers side vent window hardware? Thanks Jerry

Take the frame or car to a gl*** shop,,they have specialty pliers that grab the gl*** and pushes against the frame.

The only other way I know of removing the gl*** is a hammer,, HRP

if you've got the ***embly out on the bench, you can usually put it horizontal and let some WD40 or PBlaster soak the rubber gasket for a while, then pull on the free end of the gl*** by hand and it will slide out. i've swapped vent gl*** on Galaxie hardtop vent windows this way to get tinted gl*** where the car came with plain. you have to really clean the ***embly up with thinner to get the WD40 off and make the rubber sticky enough to hold the new gl*** in. if it's still on the car, you might slowly trickle some WD40 into the gap between the gl*** and rubber. i'm surprised at how little effort it actually takes to pull that gl*** out....

I agree with 62rebel. I changed mine on my chopped 50, WD40 and a little patience will loosen them right up.

Yes I do have the gl*** out and I will try the WD40 and see what happens. I have to change the pivot out it is broken, and the gl*** has glue runs all over it. Thanks Again for the advice....Jerry

I've laid a block of hardwood flat on the gl*** and against the frame. Rap on the wood block pushing the frame away from the gl***. Move the block to different locations and both sides of the gl*** and repeat. They can be difficult and beware that the frame can be bent. I 've never used lube but sounds like it helps and I think warming the piece couldn't hurt either. luck

that's worked for me in the past as well as gently prying on the free edge of the gl*** with a small screwdriver. i was trying to save the broken Galaxie vent for the gl*** shop to use as a pattern when i did that.

I noticed the chop on your truck. Would you mind telling me how many inches specifically that you chopped it. I have a 51 F1 that we're preparing to chop by 2.75", but you're appears to be more than that, and I really like it. Thanks.
