F100 anchor pins needed

    Greetings to all from skip in ct: i am building an AV8 using a 31 model a ch***is: i am using the bishop/tardel book to guide me along: i am using the backing plates and hubs from a 56 F100: i need two anchor pins: where can i get these? the backing plates have these # 48951-L and 48952-R: this set was outdoors for years and the nuts were rusted good: i put the heat to them and one galled the threads as it was coming off: i have a pic of the part needed: thanks, skip

    Unfortunately, I don't think these are available in the aftermarket.

    You might give Bob's F-100 Parts in California a try as they deal in used parts too.

    You might try turning the stripped thread one down an a lathe and rethreading it, one size smaller. It should still be pleanty strong .

    Try JobLot Automotive in Queens, NY. www.joblotauto.com or call; 718-468-8585. If they don't have it they can help you find it. They're a gold mine for Early to mid 50's Ford mechanical parts.
