Everyone else seems to get rid of em' so I thought I'd keep em'. I think they look sexy under there too....:D The exhaust isn't done yet either, will be coming out the back.

  5. I just picked up a V8 58 Apache basket case, and it came with the original front and back axles which are still in excellent shape. They're definitely going back on. Original axles are just too damn neat to throw away. :D

I've got to put it all back together before I can get started on getting it running. The guy before the guy I bought it from thought that a full restoration was disassembling everything things (including cutting all of the rivets out of the frame), getting it all sandblasted, and leaving it to rust in pieces.

Luckily for me, I'm just stupid enough to put it all back together. :D:D:D

Its all there, and its all in excellent shape. Its just in a billion pieces.

I'll post a thread link once I get all the parts to the same place and officially get started on it.

Definately post some pics of that thing once you get started on it!

Thanks guys I'm hoping to get some color on it by next summer! Then I can send all the chrome stuff off to get re-chromed.

it's not to often you see the stock ride height used on these trucks anymore. The change will be a refreshing touch.

No you don't, thats why I left it. I think it looks awsome at the stock ride height.

Nice man, what are your plans for it?

They sure do look cool siting up high. I saved this pic when I saw it online and was thinking of leaving mine at stock height. I decided to lower it with a dropped axle and mono leafs

Its coming along! Keep up the good work, and keep the pictures coming. I pass a '56 sitting in a field near my house. What do I have to say to get the same deal you got?
(Although you have more than made up for it with all the time and elbow grease you have put in.)

Thinking of what to do for/with the bumper......hmmmm I like the stock ones but they stick out too much and I think it looks like shit. So if I went with a stock one I'd have to suck it in some so I dont have that like 12" GAP between it and the bed.

i was thinking of flipping my rear bumper over, hang the plate in the notch and dump the exhaust on either side of the plate. also maybe shorten it a bit and tuck it up tight on the bed. i saw it done on another style truck and it looked great, but i havent really messed with mine to see if the bumper on these trucks would look good like that

    HAHAHAHAHAHA Nice....but no!

Thats a good idea! I'll have to see what that looks like when I find a bumper.
