I really like the roofline, it almost has a cartoonish/caricature profile with the front posts at the stock angle and the B and C pillars leaning forward that suggest motion, it looks fast just sitting there. Well done! And I like the fact that you kept it Mopar. I like the wagon / Ram / Ramcharger in the driveway as well.

well new work done. Got the sail panels finished now on the roof. Refit the front bumper and filled the center in to make an even gap. Started work on molding the lake pipe on the passenger side. Ordered my taillights so waiting on those to get here so I can set the taillight pockets. And now changing out the rear window section. Got to love it when you find the part you been looking for after you already decided to use the stock rear window. Bought a 40 ford sedan split window from a buddy. Pics to follow in a little bit.

Pics as promised. The first pic shows the amount of gap needed to fill in the front bumper. The rest are of the progress up to getting started on the lake pipes. Last pic shows the new rear window that will be getting installed.

Lake Pipe on passengers side is mounted. Still need to finish off by the rear fenders. Tail lights set and old holes filled. Now to start on the drivers side lake pipe and from there the skirts and mount the rear bumper.

This car is looking better every time I view this thread. And I think that split rear window will look good on your ride. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Eric. Hearing that from you and with how your car is coming out is a real boost to my confidence.

Thanks man. I saw the split rear window on here before on an old plymouth and it just kinda had me from hello. lol. Thanks for the compliment on my work. I'm still a ways off from some of the talent on this site. But hopefully will allow me to showcase my skill set. Not to bad when you think alot of these guys have 20-30 years more experience than I do. :D

Couple new pics after pushing her outside to do some cleaning. Not the right tire or wheel choice. Just need something to make it roll. Will be using a set of olds hubcaps and running some wide whites. Still thinking of dropping it more. Have to wait and see how I feel once its in primer and tires and wheels swapped. Last pic shows the caps minus the bullets the bullets that will be in the center.

split rear window in place and welded up. I feel it adds a little more flare to the rear view. Coming along got to rework some of the wheel lips and mount the other lake pipe. Then work on the skirts. Definitely coming along smoothly. Hard to think where it was only 9 months ago. Alot of hours but well worth it. Hopefully this spring she will roll out and make some cruises. Only gonna be in primer for the first year as I want to give the body and primer time to suck back.

pics before window was completely in. Showing ride height and rear view now with the new tail lights and bumper. after dropping the front to where it is now the rear bumper is roughly 7.5" off the ground. Wheels that are on back are gonna be used all the way around same with the tire size.

  21. Looks great. Lots of work but not going overboard.
These cars have been over looked for far to long.

Thanks man. I agree. these can make some pretty awesome customs and for the most part decent prices on them. I only paid $1800 for this one and it was a complete car.

I love your Plymouth, it is way cool. My Aussie bodied 40 Dodge coupe came factory with a split rear window similar to what you have put in, i have always found the split to give it more character and not so flat looking from the rear. In my opinion it looks better with what you have done, i always thought the American body was lacking around that section. Love the build, keep up the great work

Thanks buddy. I agree they always did lack from the rear. Same with the rear view of the fenders. The back ends looked so narrow compared to the front. thats why I widened the rear tubs two inches on either side. Thanks again for the compliments.

thanks Eric. I wasn't sure about the skirts at first. I orginally was gonna go with flush mount but decided to give this way a try. Had two old donor decklids that I used for the skin. Then just welded 1/8" rod around the outside edge and 1/4 rod for the frame work inside and for the bottom edge to strengthen everything up. now just have to finish up the mud work on the quarter so I can finish fit the skirt to it.

Thanks man. Think I did enough mods to consider it a total custom leadsled. Cant wait for it to be on the road then start on a pickup for the little lady, and my coroners panel truck that I want to build. Unless of course a money maker comes up first.

  30. looking great! one suggestion though, the rear corner/point of the quarter window might look better with a little more radius to match the other window corners.
