Hi Fellas, heres a pic of my 64' Belair, its all stock right now except for the Radir tri ribb 14x6" wheels and wide whites ( i know wide whites arent correct but they were new and free!) (ill burn these up and then get some pinner whites.) I have a 454/Th400 going in it in a few weeks, but im unsure on paint, i think i can only get away with bellflower style on this car. Its got a blue interior ( will have white roll and pleat door panels and seats ala J.c. whitney over the winter but blue dash and carpet,so im also limited on color choices. I also dont have the money to afford any candies or flakes, so it will just be straight or a heavier metallic oem style paint. I was thinking metallic blue with a white top, maybe some subtle scallops would be cool, but im not much of an artist. Thanks for all your help! Jason
Yea, it Does look pretty cool and barn fresh the way it is, but the paint is REALLY cooked and alot of different colors, heh.. somome put a 250 six in it and with all that 6 banger torque its going to blow the tires off in the burn-out contest at the wild hot rod party,, stay tuned for pics!
I think the wheels and tire look good on it. I think it would look killer metallic midnight blue, with deep purple scallops, and outlined in sublime green, with a white top. But thats only my two cents. Good luck. Jonney
Lower it, shave the handles and mirrors, paint it light blue metallic above the waist and put an Alfred E. Neuman sticker in the window.
That 64 Elky gets my vote, awesome job. Thinkin'.......Thinkin....... No better finish the Abone first.
Those wide whites do look rather neat on cars they never came on. That last pic with dark blue and a white top looks like what you mentioned. I had a 64 Chevy Impala 2 door hardtop, light metallic (fading) blue back when it was only 3 or 4 years old. Nice cars. The club coupe idea is interesting also.
Those are really sleek cars as they are, pretty long looking. How about splitting the colors at the hood line instead of the belt line? And continue the top color on the tops of the hood and trunk? White over dark blue would work well. I had a '62 biscayne when I was in highschool, one cool car!
Elco version!!! Damn, now I wanna' go find a four door and do it. Stick a wagon tailgate, use some two door front doors because they're longer and you've got a cool little shop truck. -stick
These Late Great Chevys were quite popular here in our neighbourhoods about ten years ago. Many of those old four-door police cars or taxis were converted as kustoms. Most of them look ugly these days but here are two old pictures from recently re-opened Finnish website. These two cars were my favourite ones when I was young and started my hobby, later I've owned two '64s. Mika
Man cool ass 6-foe, it reminds me of my first car, except mine was emerald green and juiced up on some 14inch supremes.
