Lenexa Man Killed In Car Crash In Colorado POSTED: 5:00 pm CDT August 23, 2005 UPDATED: 5:07 pm CDT August 23, 2005 FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A Kansas teenager was killed in a weekend car crash in Colorado. Officials said 19-year-old Cameron B. Haston, of Lenexa, was in a car that was traveling almost 100 mph in Fort Collins, Colo., Saturday night. The car was ripped in half when it collided with an SUV and smashed into a pair of trees. Haston died at the scene. He and the driver, 20-year-old Adam E. Heath, of Granite City, Ill., were students at Wyoming Tech in Laramie, Wyo. Heath died Sunday at a local hospital. Authorities said they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, but toxicology tests for both men were pending. Damn sad. r
Yup, I saw that in the paper here, and on the TV news. They were in a Subaru WRX running from the cops and most likely were drunk. The car was in two pieces after it hit the tree...... What a waste............
what a shame, i think prayers are in order for their families. Not to sound like a douchebag, but its actions like these that ruin it for everyone, and you better believe they're gonna crack down on techers now... whats a shame, so young....
I hate to hear that. I went to Wyotech in 94 and we used to cruise Fort Collins on the weekends. One of the guys in my class totaled his Honda on 287 one night. Yes I think they had plenty to drink too. He was lucky - car looked like a crushed tin can but the guys in the car only had minor cuts and bruises.
I feel extremely bad for the families of the two students we lost. They are not the first students that have lost their lives because of drinking and driving. It happens a few times a year. I can't imagine sending your son or daughter off to school in another state only to get phone call in middle of the night informing you of their tragic death. Here at school we conduct optional classes on alcohol awareness and have an alcohol awareness day when students can drive a golf cart with "beer goggles" on to see the effects of only a few drinks. Unfortunately some students believe that it will never happen to them and never partake in those activities. I was relieved to hear that their accident did not injure any one else.
