You are in a nice corner of the world there to check out collections. ?Do Vern's Ranch and hit Stoke's and Castelli's ..call first for the OK, nice way to spend a day.
This video puts a wrench in my hand and a tear in my eye... I must have seen this a dozen times before and I am certain I'll see it a dozen more. This is the walk thru the dream. Vern's efforts and focus are ever encouraging. Thanks Ryan
Thanks Ryan that was a really cool vid. Ive talked to Vern but never had a face to put with the voice.
We called ahead and asked for a shop tour when a couple friends and myself attended the Santa Cruz metalmeet several years back. We were doing a bunch of shop tours and trying to mile out a rental car. We were really pressed for time, but the really cool part was that Vern had more time for us than we had for him. Spent a couple hours looking around the property at all the gems, and bought some hats and t shirts and some small parts. It is one of the coolest places on the planet, and Vern and Keith are real stand up guys.
Great guys Vern and Keith, that is Paul Champy's 32 roadster with the metal finished french block, **** crank, Julianos banjo wheel , ox blood red block great car. Flathead ranch Vern calls it.
Videos like that need a warning, pure Hot Rod ****. thanks for sharing and I hope the shoulder mends quickly for ya. Scotty.
So, Thats what heaven looks like !!! Thanks, Ryan...Great film Living on the East Coast all my life and the possibility of traveling to Vern's being very slim, your visit took me there . What a treasure the Tardel's are. I loved the statement he made about not growing up & playing with cars... Says it all for a lot uf us.. Stan
Thanks for the vid. It's great to "meet the man" if only through video. I dug the "old school" comment. Think he was pronouncing that with a "ch" or a "k"?
Awesome ! I have one of Vern's Flathead engine cradles made from exhaust tubing...... What a great guy.....livin' the DREAM !
Been to Verns twice. He's a great host and his place is unreal. The first time I was there I couldn't believe the quan***y of flattie parts he had
