Hey, another Matt with another Galaxie. Insanity.

Misc ****, Look at www.dearborncl***ics.com and get yourself a mag from there. They are a little pricey, but they have ALOT, and a lot of stuff that's hard to find they repop, too. They've got taillights and other little bits. IF you've got a custom 300 you shouldn't have any of theside spears, but they've got about everything else.

I've seen one chopped one, here it is. Found this on www.carnut.com. It's a small, sneaky chop, but it's cool.

Also Mac's has a full catalog, but I found some of their stuff shoddy. I got new carpet abd it turned from blue to yellow in a few months. There are several others but I can't find my catalogs right now. Taillights you can find at any swap meet. Ebay is full of these cars and most are bargains unless they are 4 speed cars, then expect to pay a premium. I spent a year trying to sell the blue custom. It was a 58,000 mile one owner car and eventually I put it on ebay with no reserve and it brought $2500.

Try this link. I think they have 79 pages of a PDF file for Galaxie parts; takes a long thime to load with dial-up but might be worth the wait.

Cool guys thanks for all the info. I have noticed that when i do a search or try and lookup "ford custom" in the online catalogs and other areas, it doesn't seem to come up with much.

Other than some trim peices are the Galaxie and Custom basiclly the same? Can i order the parts for a 64 Galaxie and use them on my Custom??

    Thanks
    matt

The custom is just the base, el cheapo trim level of a full size Ford. Also known as a Custom 300. They are supposedly built on a lighter frame (63-64 anyway) and this is the frame they used on the factory lightweight drag cars. Said to be 200 lbs. lighter. In 64 I have seen some customs with a side spear but most did not, not sure the difference. Even the taillghts have no backup lense in the center as they apparently didn't come with them.

Drill some holes and you could put anything on a 500 on a 300.

Your 300 doesn't (at least from my knowleage) have the chrome on the dash or interior, more simplistic door panels, no side spears, no top fender trim, no back panel trim, and a few other shiny goodies. If you like all that good stuff, I'd save the cash and get a 500, that's just too much work in my opinion to put all that back on. For me, as they didn't make too many 300's, it looks like you've already shaved and cleaned it up.

I like the look of the 300 because it doesn't have all the chrome goo gaws on it. Much cleaner looking.

Thanks guys for all the info. It is greatly appericated.
