  5. Geeee...I'm feeling a little lonely. Beautiful workmanship, and gorgeous paint....but what's happening with that front end??!! The second gen car is better than the first, but it still looks like two different cars, split at the firewall. I kinda like the (spare) fender treatment, almost like canoe outriggers...but the nose is a HEAVY blob to me. And sorta mirror image on a horizontal plane, like symetrical up & down, not just side to side. Can't pull your eyes away from it. That concave just pulls you in.

Section 2-3 feet out of a Subaru Impreza front clip, re-join, do the same to another, turn 1st upside down, attach second to the first. I'm not saying he DID this, but it kinda feels like that to me. And it's not fair of me to say the front looks like a (japanese) import, cuz half the cars these days DO! Just not for me.
Still admire the work tho! Just rather see it applied to a (larger) canvas i.e. (early sixties Detroit iron)...a custom. [IMG]

Well, I was gonna say something about the nose Slowlearner, but I hate to be a currently still non-productive critic of style. Kinda looses it's punch when ya just throw criticism toward something you may or may not have the talent to produce like some others have done, yet have nothing to show for what they ARE capable of.
Trying to address my same thoughts in a positive manner, It does seem a little bulky with those 59 Cad bumper ends turned on end, which actually Do tie in nicely with the 58 Chev front T-sig housings used in the rear. Was thinking that there Must be Some way to reduce the bulk of that nose and keep the obviously stylishness of it. It's a good style, with a better grille than the first edition, just outa proportion to how lithe and nimble the rest of the car appears. Not exactly sure how I'D approach it, but I'm looking forward with envy to Whatever the owner Does with it next.
Personally I'd like to see a filled top with a single fin growing front to rear over the top and rear of the car to the left of the rear window and mirrored on the grille top. But that's just me, and it would be the proper asymetrical thing to do with a 60's showrod. Whatever happens I'm sure we'll see it first here!!!

  14. I would like to see it in person. I have to admit it's not my cup of tea, although I can appreceiat a well done "Show Car" anyday. The Engine is just plain Beautiful.

It's funny how things go in cycles. There were hundreds of cars done like that in the 60's and early 70's and then when the "CRAZE" for that perticular style was over it was over. NO ONE would build a car like that and the old ones lost there wild noses and body sculpting and became "Mainstream streetrods".
