Hey thought I should re introduce myself I do alot of looking but have not done any posting i will try to change this!.Sooooo My name is Matt I am 25 from Auckland New Zealand and am building myself a copester on a $20 a week budget. The car is pretty much made up out of anything i can get cheap or free I convinced the wife America was a good place for our honeymoon i meet heaps of great people and i came home with heaps of parts for the flathead gauges etc about 4 suitcases worth and a pallet anyways i got a cowl and the quarters for a very good price and as i wanted real steel and there is not much of it available here at a reasonable price (solo income, baby and wife at home sort of a budget) and this is what i have made. The rear quarters have been sectioned and modified as you can see and some doors are being made up now. just mocked it up really quickly today to get an idea of where i am going with it. Let me know what you think! Oh and the door skins are still about 3 inches too long there is a swage been added in the quarters to line up the top belt line but it is being covered up by the long doors lol

Yeah it is pretty close to roadster dimensions the length is the same and the cockpit area is 3" longer which suits me just fine at 6 foot 2". Some cowl mount steering etc going in soon.

Sweet ride Matt. My mother was born in Auckland, lived in the Western Springs area on Ivanhoe Road, so I have a soft spot for Kiwi rodders. Stay on it man, it's looking good.

    Hey Matty
It's great to see what you are doing, it's how we did it back in the 60's and 70's.
I have more memories of the older cars and shared building than the later stuff.
I am building a new car this old school way now that I am back in NZ

Yeah its been tough doing it on a budget slow going but to me it is kind of what hot rodding is all about, Use what you got or can get cheap or free!! Alot of the older guys have been really good, i have had wheels donated body panels brakes diff etc more importantly they are all keen to share their knowledge which is very cool indeed!
