Holley / Carter Carb Refinishing at Home? Recommendations?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BOSTONCAMARO, Oct 20, 2012.

  1. Other than having carb bodies sent out and refinished in the cadium plating or zinc or whatever it is, what do you guys use at home to achieve a close to original look?

Years ago I used Eastwood carb paint they make but am wondering if there is anything else out there?

    I appreciate the info!

    Regards, Tim

    Blast it with walnut shells.

  4. Search around for it here (again) or wait for more suggestions www.eastwood.com

Trivalent chromate is available that will create a yellow/golden sheen to carbs. The stuff is apparently pretty nasty, though. Also google alodine, which is used for aircraft parts.
