I'm wanting to lower my 1964 Galaxie 500XL 4 door hard top 2" in the front and some in the back where the car looks level.

Any suggestions on how many coils to cut in the front and what size lowering block to use in the back? Thanks!

I think I cut two coils on front and put 2 or 3 inch blocks in the rear.

Station wagon is what I did.

  3. Two iches isn't much, one coil would probably do it.

I wanted mine a bit lower, so you mite very well be correct!

You know what they say about mites.......

Cut one coil at a time and see how she acts. It's a pain in the *** but you are less likely to cut too much that way.

I may just buy the 2" lowering blocks first and see how it looks. I may even put the ol' 14" steelies and XL caps back on to make it look like a sleeper.

Try the blocks in the rear first. It's easy enough.

The common consensus a**** the Galaxie crowd is 1 coil for a 2" drop on the front. I did this to my car and I put 2" blocks in the rear. Since my car is still in pieces I have no pics to show you.
