Used a 65-69 Lincoln power box, much smaller. Had to notch the frame a little for the front of the box to fit. No c-notch in the rear and still running a 2" energy suspension axle bumper on the frame. I have some build pics I'm looking for, will post them soon.
Subscribed. To me, the car is 100% more interesting with Lincoln Y power than with a newer Ford engine... SB, BB or modular.
Here's a few shots of the front end and the shop superviser Mollie. She loved to climb on the car when I was building it, but now that it's running she hides in her dog house until I shut it off.
Mike, I guess I wasn't such a pain in your tush for taking all of those pics after all, huh?!?! Glad that you're getting your due with the Lincoln. Your builds are definitely out of the box and a LOT of fun. Can't begin to tell you how much I've learned from peeping over your shoulder and asking a million questions. - RBR Oh, here's a couple of the "bosses".
Roby, Lots of good times playing with both our Lincolns, your prodding helped me to get it done. Thanks for posting the Bosses. Now lets get your wagon done so I ride shotgun a bit and drive you nuts
Seen your car around a few times this summer, I love the concept, it's great to find out a little more about it. I'll say hi next time I see you out......was looking at it in El Segundo on Friday night....... Felix
Wanna have some fun with that hotrod Lincoln? Bring that ****er up to Nebraska and enter it in the Sandhills challenge. Good ol fashioned road racing 28 miles uphill on skinny farm roads, eat breakfast at the local high school cafeteria and race another 26 miles back down the hill. This last year a guy brought his 49 caddy "mexican road race" style car [LS with a 6 speed] and had a blast. We also have a guy who brings his "Pearson" style 429, 4 speed 70 couger to race it. The Lincoln would fit right in. See if you can maintain 100 MPH average over the entire course! Or maybe try the 105 or 120 MPH cl***....it's a LOT tougher than you'd think but damn! It's fun!
Rocky, is that an invitation? I have seen the Sandhills challenge on TV along with the 2 cars you speak of. I think the Caddy got wiped out in Mexico last week. I would love to come out and run, just a few bugs to work out first. You up for co-pilot?????
Wow, that is one seriously bad-*** Hot Rod Lincoln. I love the no-nonsense vibe you've got goin' on. Canyon stormer at 130 dB - frightening old folks in their Hondas and Hyundais all to hell. Yeeeehaaaahhhhhh!!!!!
I appreciate the offer but I'm all signed up to be co-pilot [they call us navigators] for my kid's blown ZO-6 corvette again. We moved up a cl*** and I can't wait for the event next summer...get your name in as soon as possible because they only accept a certain number of applicants.
Love the Lincoln man! Nice to see some imagination by making the car something other then another "period perfect" ride!
Edsel 58: That is the steering box my friend used on his 54 ford courier. 1964-69 Lincoln if I remember right.
