Pulled what I thought was a t5 out of an s10 truck today but not sure now What it is I'd is WG 13 53 001 Borg warner Can anyone tell me what the gear ratios are?
pictures? there should be a tag off of one of the bolts that attaches the tail portion. thats the only numbers that will tell you exactly what it is. also look at this thread http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=169265
The numbers on the tag are exactly as I wrote. I checked the t5 codes and they are all 1352. I am perplexed. Shifter is forward and not back like some of the models
On the driver's side of a T-5, there is a rounded lump down low on the forward part of the tail-housing that the 5th gear cog fits in. The four speed (T-4 ?) version is quite a bit flattened by comparision. I bought one of those (really cheap, thankfully ) when I was first learning about these internal shifter trans. Good luck with it. Kinky6
What Larry said I checked the numbers too and it comes out a four speed GM transmission. Take is back if you thought it was a 5 speed man! It also said something about this not being rated for a V8. Hope that helps man! Jay
Yes thanks looks like t4c What is the difference between t4 t4c and t5? Is the t5 tail shaft still interchangeable?
I have been looking for a while for a T-5 on craigslist and contrary to what you read on the web there are a lot of s-10's with MUNCIE manual trans not T-5's . The problem is that most sellers don't know what they have . . most that i find seem to be muncies.
No. There isn't room for 5th gear. The tailhousing will bolt to a T5 case...empty...because the bolt pattern is the same, but you can't put this tailhousing onto a T5 from a Camaro or Mustang to move the shifter forward because it doesn't have the bulge to accommodate 5th gear.
I looked a little closer tonight and you are correct no bulge. Also the numbers are strange 20 years ago this t4 was number 1353 and next comes 20 years of 1352...... So what do I know?
