I need some help identifying some old MAC tools. These have hand grips made from yellow plastic with indention's both vertically and horizontally.I've talked to MAC about them and they want me to send them in and they will send me new ones . Red flags went up when I heard that because that tells me they must be special. Hope y'all can help me out and thanks.
I don't know how "special" they are, but I have some the same design, out of my Dad's toolbox. That would make them late 40's to early/mid 50's vintage. They are more precious to me as users, not sellers, so I have no idea as to value.
I have a box full of that stuff. Some are wierd little things. The handles stink. Even after washing at least a hundred of those yellow handles it still stinks.
I've got a few of those that were my granddads... I bet the "new" ones they are offering up are made in china. No thanks would be my response. Oh, and welcome from Kentucky & Tennessee!
I think MAC wants you to send them back because if you try to use them as a chisel, the handle will shatter and you'll sue MAC tools, knowing that they have a lifetime warranty on their tools. The new set they'll send you will have high-impact rubber handles.
I think the socket goes to some kind of sensor ? It has a # SC59. Anybody have a cross reference MAC book ? Thanks for the welcome
