What are you 324 olds guys running for fuel pump? Very large unit and a spendy rebuild kit. Anyone running electric?

    Thanks

I run a Mr. Gasket 4-7 psi pump Electric pump. I`m an going to change it over the winter for a better one like Aeromotivie etc. What are you getting for prices on rebuild kits?

I paid 150 for a rebuilt pump with mine as an exchange, worked fantastic.

It is hard to beat a good mechanical pump for ease of use.... I have rebuilt a wide variety of old mechanical pumps... from 1930's Packards to 1940's Willys, there are places to find these kits... Kanter, etc. Most kits have cost under $100, but there are exceptions...

The kits I have found are about 80 bucks and rebuilt with exchange are about that 150 you talk about. Good thing about the rebuilt is new materials for the bad corrosive gas we have. I agree on the mechanical end, I run mechanical on my 49 Merc engine and the BBC but was looking for options with the electric. These pumps just seem so large with the vacuum/fuel pump together and dual diaphram. Thanks all.

When I had my 53 Olds I used a electric pump,I was too cheap to buy a fresh rebuild and the swapmeet NORS pumps that sat for years did not last long.

  7. I bought an old pump off of eBay, a rebuild kit for about $75 and she's been running fine for 3 years. I hate the whine of those electric pumps.
