$15,000 seems high for a $7500 car. Just my .02

when you look at the 53 hdt. get it on a lift and find a good magnet. having someone there taking notes for you will greatly help. engine in pic's looks like used one so i would take compression check on it. simple things like "do the doors sag"? getting a pair rebushed and pinned then rehung without chipping the paint is $500. yeah i can do it for cost of parts myself and then have to look at the chips i put in paint every time i wash it.

15,000 is too much for that car. I've got a 53 Bel Air 2 door hardtop that I bought in San Antonio from an individual years ago. I had the 235 rebuilt and had gone through the 3 speed, rear end and brakes. Fenton equipped, running two Rochesters and cherry bombs. It's my daily driver. Anyway, if I had to sell,
it would be a lot less than that seller's price. Check out my album. Take your time find the car that you really like.

the '53 I bought here in Italy was going just for a little less, perfect car and bla bla bla...
I did my 4 hours drive to check it, and during the test ride the original inline 6 "misteriously" started having big issues...

in the end I paid almost half the price he wanted for it, so I was able to buy a rebuilt engine and a ****load of parts for the money the seller was asking at the beginning...

Jump on your volksrod or on your harley, drive it for 4 hours and check the car, if it's really a good one try to drop the price and buy it, if not you can come back home after a nice driving sunday, if you like cars you're supposed to like driving too ;)

I just put out a plea for help and a HAMBer went a took a look at the car for me. It helped that the car was being sold from a HAMBer.

Car checked out, he didn't want anything for doing it. I sent him $100 for his time. Cheaper than me flying there and back...
