Don't know if this was posted before but, good news for California HAMBer's! If you're sick of the standard blue and white California plates on your vintage rod, starting in 2014 California DMV will be offering the ol' skool '50's yellow and black, '60's black and yellow plates and even '80's blue and yellow license plates again. The caveat is they need applications for 7500 or they won't do it!

  2. Need to spread the word that would be pretty cool of em. For a fee

  3. The downside that cool 2012 mustang with the fake '63 plates makes the real '63 plates look dumb or the same with the Honda and '56 plates. They should have stuck with just the YOM program.

"doing a great thing for car guys"? they're doing it for themself's to get a little more out your wallet! plus i'm sure they wont get it right. the "california" won't be embossed or something like that. re-issues seem like their always wrong. except my 72' fender telicaster. they got that one right!

Those ugly white plates have been around toooooooo long, just like those useless California politicians. It's time for something new and fresh.

Your ride is a poster-child for what 28-29 Roadster pickups should look like. Beautiful car.

'new and fresh' ? It's against the law for politicians to enact anything that's new and fresh.

I hope they don't can the YOM program because of this, but it is nice to have an option if I don't come across black plates for my ranchero.
