I don't know the history of this Flathead motor I got, but its been built pretty good. Which leads me to think that the flywheel that came with it has been re-worked also.

Can you guys tell by these pictures?

The block has been relieved, and looking at these heads I think they may have been relieved too?

This is my first flathead. So let me know if you see anything out of the ordinary.

You may need to adjust your pictures; they are not showing up.

The chambers look to be "as cast" can't really tell much on the flywheel. Those are the only 2 pics I see.

It looks lightened to me. I don't remember seeing the taper near the hub before. You could weigh it. I went and looked but I don't have one to weigh as a reference. Someone may post the stock weight.

My first thoughts on this motor was to shave the stock heads, then I found out I have a built motor. Now I'm afraid to mill the heads because I don't know whats been done to them, I don't want to run a piston into the head. I can pretty much ***ume they were worked over just going by the amount of work put into the rest of it.

As far as I can tell its a reground 8BA cam. Looks pretty aggressive. I can't wait to hear this run...

CC the heads, then clay them and see how much clearance you have above the valves and piston,
I use plumbers putty works real good for me......

Do what Carl says "CC the heads, then clay them and see how much clearance you have above the valves and piston"
Adding: turn crank by hand.....No, I know you're not stupid but others....
