Need some 1932 Ford 3 Window Coupe rumble pics.... Looking for some detailed pics of the rumble seat interior side panels. I need to makes some panels and looking for ideas, especially what the cutout around the hinge mount should look like. I could also use some ideas/pics of how to finish the interior around the rear window drip pan from the upper rain gutter to the package tray. Thanks.
Hey Randy, Thanks. I think I have all your pics including this one (mainly from your build thread and other postings), but since yours is set up as a "luggage carrier", this isn't quite what I need. Do you have the original interior side panels from when you pulled it out of the barn? I am looking for the general shape of the cutout around the hinge brackets and what was done around the upper rain gutter/drip pan/package tray. I am not going to have a wall between the front seat and the rumble area. Thanks....
Attached are photos of my coupe with basically stock rumble sear interior. It uses LeBaron-Bonney upholstery. When we travel or do shows I remove the seats which allows the car to carry lots of material or luggage. The seats come out easily. That being said, the rumble seats are very rarely used. Occasionally an older person will ask if the car has a rumble seat. That is perhaps the only time anyone cares about it. I do find that the loading down from the top with the rumble seat lid seems to allow you to fill the space with more stuff than pushing it forward with a truck lid car (just a personal observation). Do what works the best for you. Don - www.montgomeryhotrodbooks.com
I also received photos of a very similar looking repro side panels (most likely also LeBaron-Bonney too). Don, it looks like your drip pan is exposed (not covered with any upholstery). Is there anything between the side panels and the two window drip pan ends on either side (ie, hiding the backside of the exposed package tray)? Thanks for posting....
As you noted my drip pan is not covered with upholstery. The only item on the ends is the drain hose on the p***enger side end. There is nothing between the side panels and the drip pan ends. Actually you have to get down to look up at that item to even see that. Incidentally, my car still has the stock width package tray. Many guys cut down, or remove, the package tray to get more legroom. I built the car 30 years ago as you see it in the photos.
