Hi guys, I decided to join up to stay in touch with whats going on around the place. I have often checked out old posts on the net and enjoy the info shared. I live in Queensland, OZ and have been a hot rodder since 1979 at age 17. Im a motor mechanic by trade. I have built numourous cars over that time. My current ride in a 1934 5 window deluxe coupe, running a 400hp 355 Chevy, M21 Muncie, 3.4:1 8 inch. She is in red oxide and will stay that way for some years to come. The '34 is my driver, having clocked up some 10,000 miles in the last 3 years. I also have 2 X 1928's on the build. A '28 Roadster Pickup on '32 rails, this car is painted (PPG Black) and my son and I are re***embling it at present. This one runs another 350 Chevy(x1 manifold, 6 X 97's), M20 Muncie, & Winters V8 Quickchange. I should have it on the road soon. The other is a '28 phaton, I bought this car all ready painted (also PPG Black), however it is just the body, fenders and rolling ch***is. It is setup for a Chevy/T400 and has a 9" housing and 4 bars all round. The main project right now is my 17 year old son's '23 T Bucket. In OZ you can't drive a "high powered" car untill you are 21, so we oppted for a 235 Chevy to power it. It has a saginaw 4 speed and a centered Borg warner diff. The front end is made up from a '34 axle and split '39 radius rods suiside style and the rear is held in with custom ladder bars and a Model A rear spring. The engine is at the machine shop getting higher compression, balanced, ported etc. and we have an Offy 3 carb manifold. Anyway, I hope this fills you in a bit of who or what I am about. P.S. I don't get on the computer that often as I am nearly always in the gararge.
Now that's an introduction! Welcome aboard from the other side of the rock. Glad you don't let the rules keep your son from hot rodding till he's 21.........there's always a way to make the dream happen! Sir Woosh................
AJ greetings from the west coast of Florida. Try and post a few pictures of what you and your son are building. Best Regards. Jimbo
