Here's a cool vintage Hotrod article that I stumbled on. They stuffed a big 392 in a '62 Chevy pickup. I've been searching for any info on installing a hemi in a Chevy pickup as I'm considering it for my '59 Chev P/U (I have a '52 331) My biggest concern is the steering box - I don't want to move it. It looks like the box clears on this '62. Neat story anyway

They had torsion bars on those P-Us? Been easier to put a 55-56 oil pan on it...

Not sure. I know that the last year for leafs front & rear was '59. '60-'66 had coils (I think), & rear leafs returned in '67.

Chr had torsion bars, wonder if they swapped front suspension?

60 to 62? Chevy trucks had a torsion bar front suspension including the big trucks.

60-61 did have torsion bars. My high school ride was a '60 shortie, rode better than my modern 1997 Dodge half-ton.

Interesting, thought only Chr used them.
