He posted here to get a rise from us and a good laugh...so what?
Do you think anyone HERE will change his mind? Life will go on without recruiting everyone back to real Hot Rodding.

Let it go....serves nothing but HIM to keep this thread alive.

Hi Ken. Glad you decided to join us. I guess from the response here you can tell where we fall on this 'Rolling Bones-Good guys or Bad Guys' debate.

Come clean and tell us all about the trip will ya? You have a penchant for the pen, I know.

I mean, really, it has to be Ken. Look at the way the post is written and then read his article in the new issue of HopUp. Same author I don't doubt.

Use the keys and powerpark somewhere where the good people and not the "lowlife " congregate, or just SHUT UP. Jay

hey guys-I talked to Ken, it ain't him, his daughter is getting married this weekend, hes running around. It isn't keith either- not his style, and Dave well, hes a wise***, but again not his style. As for Acey Deuce,. I spent the trip with the guys, the whole trip, became a member of the "diciples of deuce" and let me tell you, I'm glad I wasn't there maybe I was looking at your car... you don't get Hot rodding at all, and if you noticed, that parking lot was full of bad *** rides. But its about the friendships you make, they last a lifetime if you treat them right. the cars bring the group together. Best of luck to you man- that at***ude is gonna get you nowhere.

I feel compelled to put in my two cents worth. The Rolling Bones cars are the most aesthetically pleasing and period correct hot rods on the planet. There were certain concessions made to make the cars capable of the constant thrashing given them. The twice a year coast to coast excursions certainly attest to their roadability. I'm afraid that Mr. Hodges will never be able to appreciate the artistic beauty of the Rolling Bones' rolling stock. Mr. Hodges please limit your rodding activities to the NSRA.

I know a Ken Schmidt! and thats Doane Spencer. I'm sure the H.A.M.B(owners of the mentality of which you speak) would had offered positive feedback toward your car had you come to this board in a civilized manner.

please don't bring the i'm better than you at***ude to bonneville. i've never met ken but have seen his cars both at bonneville and here in so-cal at the l.a. roadster show which if nothing else proves he's doing one thing right, driving them. he also ran his roadster at bonneville this year, given he didn't brake any records, but at least he's out there doing it which is what this hobby is really about. so unless you can engineer a car to p*** tech, drive cross country, and make a couple pretty respectable p***es for it's first time out, please keep your comments to yourself.

by the way post a picture of your car

I don't think "***EY" is coming back, but this thread is the ****s ! We gotta keep it going awhile longer to see who really started it.

Oh yeah, and just as another "Ken's a nice guy" story. I took pictures of his roadster blasting down the strip at Lebanon Valley and sent them to him. He was most appreciative and told me to say Hi to him the next time I saw thier cars.

Yeah, those cars ****! Who do they think they are anyway? I mean, I seen them cars with my own eyes, and I think they are too LOW. Hell, I could barely fit my hand between the ground and the oil pan on the coupe!!!

Oh and shame on them for blowing by on I-80 when they could have taken I-70 and stopped by my place.

    :D :D :D:D :D :D

    viva la HAMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i second that "no ******** at***ude" at bonneville. i hope it stays that way. after being there this year, it was soooo cool and laid back. very little, none in my experience, criticism(sp?). if your **** is right, it just is. if it ain't, nice try.
i met jimmy shine. i kinda figured he'd be a bit too cool. i was wrong. he seemed totally decent and down to earth.
throttlers too. being so close to SLC, i've been waiting to meet em. real dudes.
furthermore, my wife has never really been taken fully by hotrods. bonneville ****ed her in and showed her what it's all about.

  19. You've placed a direct hit. Post a picture of your car and we'll see if your work backs up your words.

Or did you pay someone else to build it?

Ok, going on 4 pages on why this guy is ignorant, uninformed, jealous, and pompous. If there is ONE place on this earth where Casa de Rolling Bones is revered, it is the HAMB.

Al, if you are indeed legit, I admire your tenacity for stepping into the Lion's Den and banging on your canteen with a metal s****. If you think your car is worthy of comparison with Ken's cars, then let's see a pic. If you can't post it, send it to me and I'll post it.

    I have my doubts...

There is no Al Hodges listed in the SLC telephone directory.

    I think we've been played. :)

That's exactly what I was thinking...

Anyway, Al, if you're for real and want answers to your questions, just read the last year of www.hopupmag.com. Mark has written a short story about a streetrodder coming to see the beauty in driven, performance styled, vintage styled, hot rods with at***ude.

I considered letting this whole thing go but felt that would be a cowards approach. Please allow me the opportunity to justify my original posting.

I am surprised that anyone found “HAMB mentality” to be demeaning. It was simply an attempt to group together rodders subscribing to the same venue. If you feel lesser as a proponent of unfinished street rods, so be it. I am rightfully proud of my finished rod.

I’m sure you gentlemen, judging by a criteria I am unfamiliar with are justifiably proud of your creations

I apologize for bringing thoroughbred to a dog show.

As for my car, watch for an upcoming Street Rodder Magazine photo layout. Incidentally didn’t I see the Guru and his flunkies in SRM?

if the the HAMB could be thought of as an action, id imagine it would be like a huge MOB of people at a concert falling over and getting up at the same time.

ever seen that before? its funny lookin... like you guys!
