I'm sure someone on here knows the actual answer, but the way the lens is diffused on mine casts a wide narrow light all the way across my lane. I have it aimed slightly to the right. This lights up from the center line in the road all the way to the ditch. I was suprised how bright it is without the headlights on. I'm still curious how it does in the fog. As was said earlier in the thread that one is utilitarian. I feel it fits my truck.

Scoured the Iola car show for a pair for my coupe. Finally found a pair of ambers and surprise to me, they were 12 volt. Would never run a light like this without relays.

Mine also pull double duty as turn signals.

I've had just one fog lamp for years, just something to set off the front end. Nice when your bringing up the tail on a cruise, they can see you a long ways back and know where you are--

Thanks for the comments. Looks like it is just preference/esthetics more than function. Cool!

I ran 2 on my car for years on a separate switch, worked great in fog, just what they were made for.
