The roadster is looking great with fenders on! If you nail that top like Dave's roadster there is no way it won't be *****in!

Haha! Yeah Dave's in my inspiration! I mean, I want it to be a little different, but all in all his car sits perfect and the top proportions are dead on. When I was working on my old 34 roadster, I could not decide on fenders/no fenders. Then on our first E vs. W flathead run I met Dave and saw his car...it was an easy choice then! So when this car came with 4 original, REALLY nice fenders, it was a no brainer!

I mean, don't get me wrong. I like the car just as it is, highboys are rad...but nothing to me is quite cl***-out-the-*** like a full fendered 33-34

Remember we live in the nw. I drove my 32 to work this morning in the rain. With fenders its just like any other car. A highboy would be different.

Haha time flies huh? We are still married and have two kids now. Different house, jobs and dog. But the ol roadster is still here.

I keep working on it as I go. It now has fenders, a beautiful top made by Paul Reichlin at Cedar Dale Upholstery in Mount Vernon WA, 41 Ford super deluxe bumpers, and lots of other small changes. I blew the car apart one winter and painted the firewall Wimbledon white, repainted the engine, added an oil filter which requires changing the pan, put some more chrome on the front end and changed the intake to an original Edelbrock slingshot I scored off Craigslist. The interior still needs redone but I did have the dash rechromed and it now has a nice original 53 Ford anniversary steeeing wheel in it. I raced this car at the Hotrod hill climb, it got shot and featured for HopUp magazine and I raced it at the Billetproof Drags. I love this car, I’ve had a lot of cars since but this ol 34 remains my favorite and always will be. Thanks everyone for following along, I reread this thread a little today and itbrought back a lot of good memories.

A roadster racing club started in I think 1948. There are still a few members around, @oldebob is one of them. They made 12 plaques, I found this one from @Marcy of all people.

Sometimes when I see pics of your roadster I pee a little, I’m thinking I should start wearing adult diapers.
