Just curious if anyone here knows of a '41 Chevy truck that used to belong to my dad, Jerry Casad. The truck was painted Honduras Maroon, and had a chrome tube front axle and chromed rear axle. 283 chevy with a 4-speed. High front end stance, as was popular in the late 60's when dad built it. Oregon license GBV102 or GBY102. (I did a plate search but turned up nothing) The last time I saw it was around 1986, in Medford, Oregon. After that I think it went to Salem, OR. I'm not looking to pester anyone, but after losing my dad to cancer this last December, I've been wondering what ever happened to his old hot rod. Any help appreciated. -Greg
Thanks for the bump guys. I have looked on the 41-46 chevy truck forum on here, but haven't seen it. Although it's been a long time, I feel I would recognize it. I do have a couple of pictures, and will try to get them on here. I always wished dad hadn't let it get away, as the truck was originally purchased new by his grandfather. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1575119&stc=1&d=1330303223
I've managed to get a couple of pictures of dad's '41 to load. These were most likely taken between 1970 and '73. Again, thanks for any help with this. -Greg.
Hope you find it, but a lot of styles have changed over the years, I bet it doesnt even look close now. Maybe just build one in his memory?
I figured you thought of it already, but I'll ask anyway - any chance you have any old do***entation laying around, an old registration card or insurance slip, something that shows the VIN? If you were able to locate something, could do a VIN search to find the current owner.
That's an idea. The truck's been gone since around 1980, but dad was kind of a pack-rat. Who knows what he might have kept. Thanks.
My dad p***ed away last December. I'm currently building the A coupe that we started on. The '41 was originally purchased new by my dad's grandfather. The truck was a major part of dad's life, and he always said that dreaming about it was what got him through the horror of his Vietnam experience. I'm not necessarily looking to wrestle the truck away from anybody, but as a last favor to my dad and as closure for myself, I'd like to find out where it ended up.
Contact my brother, "Jangleguy" here on the HAMB..lives in Medford and knows about all the rodders in Medford, Gr*** Pants etc.
Was there anything on the truck that would make it unique? Like it was said, styles change. Was there anything "under the skin" of the truck that would make it stand out? Good luck on the search.
there was a article in old school rods or one of the mags that cater to the r.r. crowd earlier this year. looks very similar to the pict. i will dig thru my m***ive library and try to find it this weekend. pm me later about it so i wont forget.
Just a thought http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/...w-aims-to-reunite-people-with-their-old-cars/ Good Luck on finding that truck.
