I don't know the stock size but the round axle housing is 2 5/8" wide so I'm guessing a U-bolt with a 2 3/4" ID....

Take the original ones and have a spring shop make them longer or whatever you need. They are pretty good at doing that and they'll get it right on the money.

i dont have the originals. when i bought the axle i bought it from a used parts dealer, they junk the hardware usually. and auto stores go by length wire size and ID. i dont know s10 very well so i was hoping someone here did. but i figured it out through other websites.

i got a 96 s10 blazer rear the 3.42 and its getting put on a 57 chevy pickup with 3 inch drop springs. i put the new leaf spring perches on top of the axle to avoid notching the frame.

i used this website for a reference. napa auto parts has 9/16 threads, 2.75 ID and 6 3/8 length ubolts in stock.

so, springs running above rear? 3" drop from stock ride height would not likely require a notch.

stock s10 rears sit on top of the leaf springs, opposite of a normal full size chevy. i cut mine off and relocated them to the top of the axle. so now the rear will sit under the rear leaf springs. the trucks rear suspension will look like a stock 57 but with a 3 inch drop.

if i kept the spring perches on bottom of the s10 axle (relocating them to the correct width of 57 stock spring location) and put the s10 axle ontop of the new 3 in lowered spings i would have ended up C-notching the frame, which i had no intention of doing.

The local spring shop nearby makes up U bolts while I wait for $7-$8 each with nuts and washers too.
