Cigarette Lighter ID?? Unique

    I found this lighter at a sale. Is it a stock piece off an old jalopy or is it some kind of aftermarket fancy thing-a-mah-jig?

    What about the notch...is that just a notch, or does it hold a bulb to act as a map light? JCW offered several like that, and probably Detroit did too. Any patent number on it anywhere?

  6. a quick Google search shows that they are still in business an they make water filtration equipment. founded in 1912 and are now part of 3M

    You're right about CUNO. I did an eBay search and I found a bunch of car lighter listings. Hopefully that'll help. It is unique (uni-Q as I like to say). No idea what make or model this came in, but I bet they're all pretty universal.
     
  8. It's to hold a lit cigarette and snuff it out on the end for those who didn't care about the interior of the vehicle, much.
