I recently started the restoration of my 58 impala and working on getting it stripped when I realized the dash is welded to the car. This is my first old Chevy so maybe this is normal but I need to strip, refinish, and repaint the dash and its going to be very difficult doing it in the car. Just wondering what you guys have done about this becuase I have been told the dash is part of the structure of the cowl and removing is a bad idea.
    Thanks alot,
    Eric

This was no restoration.. but you get the idea. Its not a hard job leaving it in the car. Just paint it and back tape it later while you do the rest of the car.

Alright thanks a lot, I think it would have been really difficult trying to get this out anyways.
