'40's traditional paint color

    i am building a 40's traditonal modified and was wondering if they used anything other than black paint on the body back in the day? if so what are other color options to keep it period correct? thanks

    maroon/burgundy is always good. Anything from Ford Coach Maroon to ***ian Red. You will need to get a sample sprayed and see it in the sunlight. Some maroons turn brown or muddy in sunlight.

    When you decide a color - keep metallics, pearls and clears out of the batch too.

    My '46 Olds sedanette is OEM metallic gold upper with OEM solid beige lower. I will be repainting it in OEM colours with OEM wood grained interior dash & garnish molds.
