In my last post on the first installment I mentioned the Ken Duncanson Merc. So I will start with a couple of Ken's cars in this installment. I don't know Ken very well but I know that he has always had neat hot rods and customs. I saw this to a greater extent doing my research for these threads. I guess Ken would be in his mid fifities and my research showed he has had neat cars all his life. The first is the '51 four door he had in the '70s and the other is the '50 Merc he had many years later and has been on the road for a real long time and going by Devilrods post in my frist installment the car may have been sold to Doug Carter. Update, would appear Devilrod made a mistake, Ken stillowns his green Merc! Seeing as there was some mention of 4 doors in the first installemt I will post a candid image of a door in this installemt. This is the Reverend Robinson's '50. Which was silver over dark blue. This car was seen around the area where I live, many years ago. Making me think that the reverend may have had a parish in this area. But from various shots I have seen in magazines the car was seen in many areas of the state of Victoria where I live. Just to keep these threads a little balanced and perhaps a bit more interesting I'll now post a feature on the dark colored chopped Merc shown in the first installment. That's it for the second installment. Geoff aka whodaky
00mack, I just noticed the feature of Adam Tysenn's Merc, it doesn't have the ribs in the roof. Strange? Geoff aka whoday
G'day Geoff, the Rev is actually George Robertson (not Robinson) & he and his wife Anne still use the car regularly (they live at Mt. Martha). They do a lot of touring, often towing a caravan, things like the RACV Rally etc. George is a member of the Early Ford V8 Club even though the Merc runs a Y-block instead of it's original flattie. He previously owned another 4-door, I think it was red/white. If you want to catch-up with him let me know & I'll give you his phone number. He recently told me of another car recently imported by someone in North Ringwood, not sure if it is a '49 or '50. Cheers, Peter.
Thanks Peter for the additional information. I hope a lot more information is given by other Aussies from these threads about the various Mercs shown! Geoff aka whodaky

In that one black and white pic, the caption underneath it says that the 49 merc sits on a 56 ford frame... Dude..what's up with that?? Is that possible? tok
Thanks for the info Steve. I thought there had to be 2. Was talking to Tony Caasar the othr night on the phone. I mentioned you remembering, when you saw the iamges of all those cars from way back out the front of Tony and Rita's place. Tony said to say hi! Geoff aka whodaky
The 49 mercury your talking about is alive & well & registered & still in Melbourne but off the road at the moment. Its the 2nd one George Robertson owned (he still has the other) Its still stock except for 12 electrics & now light green in colour but temporarily off the road.
