So today the tail lights stopped working. Headlights work OK but nothing in the rear. replaced the bulbs and tried jumping the brake switch on the master cylinder and still nothing. No fuse box in the 61 so that's not it, does anyone know if there is an inline fuse possibly? Just seeing if anyone had any other ideas before I have to start pulling wiring. Thanks in advance all
Well, you said taillights, but then jumped the brake switch. Those are two different wires. If no rear lights work, test the sockets at the bulbs for power. Maybe bad grounds, or could be some random connector to the rear wiring.
ya I just wanted to see if I can get any light at all so thats why i jumped the brake switch.. I'll have to track down the volt meter and start finding where the failure is.. hopefully I can find it.. hopefully its something easy to find
Brake lights go through the turnsignal switch but the taillights are from the light switch. Check for a grounded socket and don't forget the license light in the circuit too
You sure there are no fuses, there should be, the 61's may be on the light switch. There is a pretty good wealth of information on the Thunderbirds here. LINK: http://www.squarebirds.org/vbulletin/index.php
holy crap VirgilHilts that wiring diagram is exactly what I need.. you are the man! Paulie, thanks to Virgil it looks like there is a fuse block... i feel like thats exactly the issue... now just to find the damn thing
