That is a very nice ride! Find an expert and modify the old 6 slowly... you'll have one heck a nice old beast.

  6. With all the kit stuff out there a V8 is a damn near bolt-in no matter what you use for a front suspension. When I sold my '50 I had the V8 bolted down waiting a trans crossmember on the stock front end.

  7. are you sure thats a 235? i thought the bolt pattern for the valve covers was different. 216 has 2 bolts on top, 235 4 bolts on the side.. i may be wrong

  8. they really are pretty simple, if you get the right kits.
thats if you ever decide to do it in the future, at least know you have plenty of options and pretty simple. hows the car coming along?

  13. Hi just pulled my 216 and bolted in a 58 235 truck engine and it went quite smoothly. You will need a short waterpump from Patrick's and you might as well convert to 12 volt and Patrick's has all the items you need. I could not believe the amount of power with the 235 as you go from 92 hp to 142 hp and this spring I will be putting split manifolds on. Talk to Tom Langdon about fitting anything chevy into anything chevy. You can go to his website and ask him any related question. Good loking car and you should have a cool ride.
