i need help identifying my motor. it is a chevy inline six. i have seen all the linked sights for decoding the stamped number but do not find mine. the number next to the distributor is F0616CC. i know how to decode that but cannot find the CC designator at the end. any help? the block number is 3923418, which i cannot find either. the car is a 52 Chevy Styleline Deluxe. the car was modified to fit this motor in. I can tell where they cut and moved the radiator forward and it still barely clears the fan blades. it also is attached to a 2 speed powerglide automatic via an open driveline not the original torque tube that i believe it came with. please help!
I've got an old chevrolet reference manual that lists CC as a 1965 or 66 chevelle 230 c.i.d. with powerglide
thanks for the reply Mike. as usual, I have been researching further and found a CC designator as possibly a '68 250, go figure. more research ahead. thanks again.
your right Tig. i posted the wrong number. the block casting number is 3921968 which shows to be either a 230 or 250 which i had figured out before. the stamped number is as posted above, F0616CC. my understanding is that means Flint factory, June 16.....CC is supposed to be the motor designator that says what vehicle applicatiion and size. but I found contradicting information one said its a 250 the other said 230. go figure.
